HI
Pam, We hold a 16-hour horse-rider
certification class annually. It is taught and evaluated by P.O.S.T certified
instructors from outside our unit – this keeps the certification of the
horse-rider team free from internal “politics”. Other evaluations are
handled internally, example: We allow certified riders to use another unit
member’s horse so long as they pass an abbreviated evaluation on that
horse. Once a rider and/or horse are certified
through the 16-hour course they don’t have to be re-certified, but we
often choose to take the class more than once just for the fun of it. Colleen San Mateo County Sheriff’s MSAR unit -----Original Message----- I am taking a poll on horse teams
