chris, I took a look at the sites you referenced and felt the forest service vest (http://www.vinatronics.com/vinatronics/downloads/p19.pdf) was closest to what works for our mounted unit.  I expect they didn't reference prices due to a contracted volume discount with the USFS which would not apply to individual buyers or smaller purchases.

the sportchief fleece vests looked like a cold weather item to me.  Personally, I like the way cordura or the plastic mesh lets other clothing slip over it and can be used all year.  Fleece might not be so great in summer, plus it picks up debris & bits of hay & tends to be bulky.

Our unit's new vests appear to be made by cascade toboggan out here in the Pacific NW.  the label says "CTC Seattle", but the woman who bought them can't recall the company's name.  I checked cascade toboggan's site and see a vest very similer to ours at http://cascadetoboggan.safeshopper.com/8/147.htm?815.

Ours do not have the 1st aid emblem on the back - but it would be a good place for a unit logo.  Our unit's version has reflective tape on either side of the front zipper and across the back at shoulder blade height.  Also, the right breast pocket is orange and looks larger - about 4 1/2" square. the vertical zips on either side of the zipper are pockets as well, and the little black square between the vertical zip & upper rt pocket holds a whistle.

The list price is about $80. I understand ours were $20 off, at $70 because we bought the entire stock, so with reflective tape and minor customizing, the SAR vests were originally $90.  Depending upon interest from mounted units, they may be willing to do some customizing.  I understand our mountain rescue teams also use this vest.
