To return to Heather's plan to develop a mounted hasty and/or tracking
team...her unit now consists of 4 or 5 riders. Our unit has closer to
20, of which 15 currently have horses sufficiently bombproof for MSAR.
On any given callout, some are away on travel, some are sick, some are
at work (and have jobs that must take priority), etc. So usually only
a third of us can respond to the callout. And we do not let newbies go
out except with at least two experienced riders. So usually we field
only 1 or 2 teams.
