Jay,
We don't have any leaf rolling on the Indigo Rose, and the fruit is about golf ball size. All of our tomato plants are loaded with fruit, but we were hit with a hail storm the other night so most of the fruit has little dings in it.
The indigo rose is pretty, but on the small size.
Carla
Perkins, OK - even the green beans have little white ding marks from the hail :(

Carla,Your question is very timely, I was just getting online to ask the exact same question. The largest ones are the size of golfballs and the plants are loaded. They have alot of leaf roll, are yours this way too? Mine have been this way since they were very small, I am going with it is a variety thing.I would love to hear from anyone who has grown them before too!Jay

We planted a few Indigo Rose tomatoes this year, just to see what they are like. We picked a few this evening, and they are pretty, a very deep purple that looks almost black. I sliced one up and it's bright green inside with no flavor. Obviously not mature, so how do you tell when they are mature? Johnny's catalog says " green when unripe, purple red when ripe. I'm guessing I picked too early, and the tomatoes will turn from this really dark purple to a more purple-red? Is anyone else growing these? Thanks,CarlaPerkins, OKOn Thu, May 31, 2012 at 2:43 PM, <clearviewfarm AT bluefrog.com> wrote:
Hmm, could that be one of the chemicals reputed to do honeybees in?

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
