Hi Rivka.  Nice to see you at NOFA-NY!

Down here in Westchester County (where we've gone from 6b to 7 on the new map!) it's supposed to get up to 60...again.

It's the insects that I'm fretting about too.  Last season I had what I thought was an insanely huge population of squash bugs.  I'm wondering now whether I was just being lazy about observing them and it was actually Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs finally making their way up here.  They were on everything - sqaushes, of course, but also tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, brassicas!

Anyone have thoughts about the BMSBs?

-- including all the vineyards in this area, though I don't myself
have enough grapes to worry about much.

I'm afraid that winter is finally going to show up around March, and
catch everything in full bloom two months early. I'm also worried
about insect populations next year -- we usually count on the winter
to reduce the pest populations significantly.
