I use one of those broadcast seeders you carry with a sling over your shoulder, and crank with one hand as you go down the row to spin the broadcaster. I think mine is an old Earthway; it has a canvas bag; I've had it for years and no longer remember where I got it. There are several models on the market now; Johnny's, for instance, lists a similar model for 49.00.
The seed won't wind up only in the aisles that way, though. I'm usually underseeding the clover through the whole field, for the next year's cover crop. If you don't want the clover up in the rows, the broadcast seeders wouldn't be a good choice.
