Joe, I never use supplemental light, although I expect I would get better growth if I did. I suspect that in my case, soil temperatures are a bigger limiting factor than light, but I do have pretty slow seedling growth in February.

I have always started plants inside under lights and used 12 hours of
daylight.
This year I have the luxury of a hoop house and wonder if at the latitude of
37 N
(Springfield MO) in February if lights would be beneficial?
Next week day length will be 11 hours so I am inclined to think that lights
will not
be necessary this time of year. Does anyone use lights in a hoophouse if
say you were
to start plants in Dec or Jan?
Thanks for your input!
