Rivka - where do you get the White Pattypan? How does it differ from
Bennings Green Tint, which I find bland, late, and not particularly
productive?

Pattypan, white scallop (actually light green), some call piter pan or peter pan - check Johnny's.

Michelle, there are a lot of strains around, and they don't all taste the same. Johnny's doesn't carry a white scallop, last I looked. I haven't tried Peter Pan, which they say is the same as Patty Green Tint; this would be different, I suppose, from Bennings Green Tint as Peter Pan is a hybrid. (I have tried Johnny's Flying Saucer; it does have nice flavor, but the color was erratic, and my customers didn't seem enthralled by it.)

I agree with Beth's description of Bennings Green Tint, at least as grown here.

White Pattypan is very hard to find. I used to get it from Heirloom Seed. Last time I got it from Jung; they call it "Early White Bush Scallop also known as White Pattypan"; it does seem to be the same thing.

Yellow Custard I also thought was very good, but this was from Abundant Life years ago before they had the fire, and I haven't been able to find it since.
