And/Or that the plant itself has mechanisms for toughening up its exterior cell walls (or whatever helps it through hot times) that also increase its attractiveness/susceptibility to flea beetles. And/or that another major source of food for the beetles becomes unavailable/unattractive in the heat And/or ............ Beautifully complex, totally interwoven, dynamic world.
