Errol,
I've not had much luck flaming grass in general. Asparagus are a bear to
grow without herbicides. I don't like the idea of salting the beds. I have
been thinking of lightly misting citric acid at the end of the harvest. I
think a light flaming might be ok, but doubt it will have much effect on the
grass. Once the ferns die back this winter I plan to flame frequently until
production begins next year.

Anybody tried flame weeding on asparagus after ferning? I'd love to
singe my bermudagrass, but I don't know whether the asparagus would be
harmed/killed.
