Greetings,

For years, our market took the credit cards and sold 'bucks' to the customers, which the vendors could turn in for cash. The system worked well until the advent of debit cards. We lost the service. Several vendors do take them, but all of them have had serious trouble with bad charges from debit cards.

On the other hand, checks seem to be just fine, provided they are written to the business, not a personal name. I have talked to vendors that have been taking them for over 10 years with out a single problem.

Bright Blessings,

Hello, everyone -
Does anyone have any experience with taking credit/debit cards at markets?
We are considering doing this, based on customer feedback and research
showing pretty good sales increases. It requires setting up a merchant
account (which we have had before) and the right wireless equipment to do
it. IF you do take cards at your markets, what brand/model equipment do you
use?
Thanks!
