I always had this problem myself UNTIL I did
this:
Plant your seed into dense "beds". Mine are 4
feet wide (10 inches deep) and I am now using a four row seeder, but used to do
it all by hand. Broadcast or make rows two inches apart across or down the
bed to cover the entire bed for as long as you like. Mine are about 20
feet long. Water them in. Cover with floating row cover making soil
contact. Pin or keep flat onto soil with whatever method you choose.
Water every day through the row cover. The row cover keeps the soil from
drying out too much. Water twice a day if you need too. My carrot
stands are awesome. It really works. Of course now you will
have to thin like crazy too. Unless you use pellets..which I am switching
to this fall. :)
Good luck,
Missy
