We used LGD's for livestock protection but they have also served nicely to keep deer out of our garden areas, along with smaller destructive creatures like raccoons and possum.  Too bad they haven't developed a taste for rodents.

Hi Marie
Missouri has a HUGE deer problem.  We handled our deer infestation this winter by getting a 10 doe nuisance permit from our local conservation officer.  He explained that does "pattern" (teach their offspring) where to find food at different times of the year.  Once your local herd knows you are an "easy source" for food you're in trouble unless you install a fence.
Instead of a Jurassic Park style electric fence we've opted to get a guardian dog to live near the property line to keep away the deer.  Any one else using dogs for deer control?

This winter we had a great discussion on deer fencing. Where can one find the posts for the 10 foot deer fencing?
