Subject: Organic Veg Farmers who use Seminis varieties - be aware of tech
agreement

We've seen a new development in the Monsanto acquisition of Seminis
regarding patents and tech license. You may not know you are using
Monsanto-Seminis varieties, but many of the seed companies fresh market
growers rely on sell Seminis. Monsanto has long been known for prosecuting
biotech farmers for seed saving, but new warnings on Seminis varieties would
put you at risk of prosecution, allow Monsanto to enter your farm without
notification to test your plants, etc.

I encourage you to ask your seed broker for a list of Seminis varieties, and
varieties from any company that uses utility patents and therefore has the
ability to prosecute for any form of seed saving - there are others besides
Monsanto-Seminis. Seed brokers often do not indicate what breeding firm they
buy from, or if there are utility patents on these varieties. As we have
seen in field crops, even if you don't save seed that doesn't guarantee that
you won't be investigated for breaking patent laws.

To see and example of the tech license on the bag (and your dealer might not
send it to you in the Seminis bag) and more on this go to OSA blog:
