I have always wondered about putting together a barrel stove for my tunnels for back up heat.  How does yours work?  Are you running it at one end of the tunnel and venting it out the endwall?  Do you have a blower unit attached or are you just radiating heat?

We supplement with wood heat during the winter, so I have lots of wood to burn and I am always cutting.  I would love a picture or a description.

Thanks!

I use 55 gallon barrel wood stoves as back ups to my backup  heaters which are backed up by my generator which is backed up by my backup generator all of which are attached to an assortment of flashing lights and alarms. The wood stoves are the most dependable source of heat in an emergency. I have always got barrels for free or for a few bucks but since scrap metal prices skyrocketed all those barrels went for scrap and the last two stoves I built were from brand new barrels. If you haven't priced 55 gal drums lately you will be in for sticker shock. BTW winter is my favorite time of the year... Bob.

We use those heaters when we do winter camping.  You can get them at places  like Bass Pro, Cabela's or they are even in Northern Tool Co.  Use them when we Ice fish for heating up our hut.
