Is this field corn you are selling to customers as sweet corn? Do your customers know it is genetically modified? Is it also herbicide resistant?

If your not certified organic and you want to grow more than a couple acres of sweetcorn for market you will be doing yourself a favor growing Bt sweetcorn. Its not for the hobby farmer. You will have to buy at least 25000 seeds which is around 5 pounds and sign an agreement promising to cut down the stalks 30 days after harvest. Other than that the corn is great tasting and three days after harvest its almost as tasty as regular sweet corn fresh picked. I have customers as far away as Alaska and Hawaii who get it almost a week old and love it.I think most of the seed for 2010 is sold out by now...Bob.
