Horse feed oats will work but you run the risk of noxious weed seeds that are removed in certified seed. The only truely good horse oats is the slightly used kind... Bob.

If using oats as part of a cover crop mix, is it o.k. to use feed oats like I would buy for a horse at the feed store? I'm looking for something that will winter kill in zone 6.
