I use 2" soil blocks and if the plants are leggie or have sufficient foliage
I switch from my 2" to my new 2 1/2" Hatfield. This eliminates chute
hang-ups.

It should work. The biggest problem we've had with the Hatfield transplanter
were plants that had gotten a little leggy. They seem to hang up in the
tube, rather than sliding on down.
