I rented a reverse rotation tiller (Land pride) once. It used a lot more engine power than similar sized forward rotation tillers and so I needed to go much slower while using it. I did not notice any difference in the quality of the job or how fluffy or finely tilled the soil was.
After renting several tillers for short term use I purchased a forward rotation tiller and have been pleased with that.

I made a mistake. Our Howards did push forward. So NOT reverse
rotation. Howards work great!!!

I love my Chaco sandals as long as I'm not using machinery.

I need to buy new pair of shoes to work in the field this summer
season and I was wondering what others would recommend. Out here in
California I don't need to worry about wet conditions during the hot
months. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Andrea

Good topic! I hate how hot my feet get if I wear shoes/birkies. On the
other hand, if I wear sandals, my feet end up so dirty I can't get them
clean. And wearing sox w/ sandals makes my younger helpers roll their eyes.

Don't your feet get dirty in them? I love sandals too but I hate scrubbing
me feet every night! I wear Red Wing boots to keep them clean and for the
support. Do any of these 2 sandals you girls mention have good arch
support?
