I've used PlanetJrs on tool bars for years. I find them difficult to
maintain; the exposed gear drives wear out as do the shaft bushings (or
no bushings). Since giving up on PlanetJrs, I've been using hand push
seeders.

Earthways are a great value, but don't handle rough ground very well.
And they don't handle small seed, such as mustard, well.

A couple of years ago, I bought one of Johnny's "european" seeders.
Though it works very well, the "fit and finish" is not what I
expected; some pieces have fallen off as well as much of the paint.
I believe it comes with all available seed plates.

I don't have rocky ground, but at times it is cloddy. The Johnny's
"european" handles that kind of ground better than other seeders I have
tried. The Johnny's handles all size seed well.
