I finally found the 1801 inserts in a catalog but it doesn't say how deep
they are. I'm wanting deep inserts for my tomatoes.
This is a suggestion you might want to consider.
For tomatos I use 2401s. When the seedlings get to about 4-5 inches tall I pile in about 1 1/2 inches more potting mix on top of the flat, creating a similar effect to using a deeper cell. This gives me a fist sized root ball on a 8 - 10 week transplant. Thiis would be even better on 1801s.
