Hey Carla...sending you sympathy/empathy for those weather conditions.  Where is Perkins approximately and what are you doing to cope with the heat and drought?
Re seed sources:  I forgot to mention a possible business opportunity to those of you with a bit of land to spare.......Most native seed suppliers/growers/restoration companies buy  some seed from sub-contractors and there always seem to be varieties that are in short supply.  If you can establish and maintain a native seed bank, you might earn some extra income.  Sure, there's some leadtime definitely and hoops to jump through probably, but the market is there.  I am the frustrated consumer on the phone hearing that droughts here, or floods elsewhere, or no one supplying that variety this year mean no plants for my customers.

Shawnee, zone 5 and already beginning to feel pressure about next season in the middle of this one.
