I remember (from at least 20 years ago) seeing a sign at a small farm
(maybe a large garden, sometimes it's difficult to know the difference from
the highway): 'Clean Autumn Leaves Wanted - Put Here' - then he had three
sides of a rectangle made by snow fencing. People dropped their leaves,
bagged, there.

I used to pass by there often: sooner or later, I'd see that the sign was
changed to 'No More Leaves Needed This Year - Thanks!'

I don't know how well it worked.

I'd also like to accept grass clippings from landscaping companies, but
worry about pesticide and herbicide residues. Does anyone have any
experience with this, and how do you cope with these potential problems?
Mary, does the town inform you about their spraying practices?
