I use the 19 or 30 weights as I find the 15 weight is about like using Kleenex. i have used agri-pro 50 but that does not let in enough light for most things but it also is very long lasting-3 to 4 seasons.  I put the row cover on #9 wire hoops and weigh it down with bricks/rocks. I can usually get 2 seasons from a piece, though the second season the row cover will be full of hole/tears. But it still works for germinating seeds and keeping the sun off of plants as well as pretty good insect camoflague. Eventually the covers get so ripped up they become insulation, halloween ghosts, dog house bedding or anything else I can think up to keep it from being landfilled.

I do reuse my agribon with rips in it and it does seem to still be pretty effective.  If I have a huge hole and don't want to take it off, I sometimes patch it.  Take another piece of agribon and TAPE it on with packing tape.  Holds up really well.

I use hoops and put hoops over every other hoop to hold it in place.  That is where I get the rips because I'm too impatient and rip it sometimes when I pull it back without loosening the top hoop or put the top hoop on too tightly and that will rip it sometimes.
