Are you using ag-15, ag-19, or...?
Are you floating or hooping?
Are you hand installing or machine.
I've only used the ag-15 over hoops; hand installed.
The machines to install with hoops are out of my price range.
Anyone have any ideas on a mechanical way of installing, on the cheap?

I think there's some truth to the bug baffling approach.  You certainly get
some damage with heavy pressure even under good cover but at the same time
we use an awful lot of "swiss style" Ie. Holey row cover to fairly good
ends.  I've accepted tears and holes as part of the package when dealing
with this stuff.  Its my arch nemesis.  Me and agribon have a real love hate
relationship.

My husband says glue it. he used some nasty toulene based glue that worked
but smelled very toxic. he thinks Gorilla Glue would work but hasn't tried
it yet. He also will tie rips together but i find that to be a terrible
solution.

Remember that a lot of how row covers work is to disguise the crop. The
insects see a sea of white and ignore the area so often having a couple of
holes punched in the cover does not mean the bugs will invade ASAP. often
they never find the hole(s) or the crop underneath. Other times they do so
keep an eye on the areas but don't freak out.

Kurt has the best solution-just take an old piece and cover the hole, cheap
and effective.

I don't know about actually repairing the row cover, but I taken another
piece of cover long enough to go to the next closest securing pins or
stones.  That completely covered the rip and then some.  It seemed to be
effective.
