I don't know that organic farmers are being targetted. Marijuana is the
largest cash crop grown in the country.

About a month after I was certified organic, a white, single engine plane
buzzed my farm several times at tree-top level. That's highly illegal, not
to mention irritating, so I decided to get the numbers off the plane and
report them to the FAA. I was surprised to see that there were no markings
or ID nos. on the bottom of the wings, or the tail. I had no idea who these
yahoos were.

The next spring, I certified a farm on a large island in the middle of the
Tennessee River. A few weeks after I filed their cert. papers, I saw on
the local news that the County Drug Enforcers had to make an emergency
landing in a field on the same island. It looked like the same plane that
buzzed me. I think that ended the career of the "Airborne Drug Yahoos."

My conclusion was that the yahoos equate "organic" with drug growers. Now
it sounds like they think all small farmers grow illegal drugs. And that
they're not the brightest bulbs in the lamp.
