Steve,
I purchased a Sears Craftsman Dual Rotating Tiner tiller about 5 years ago. It has a 19" deck and can till as deep as 10". You can adjust it to till in rear tine mode or a light forward tine cultivation. I bought the extended maintenance plan on it and they fix everything that I can't. I couldn't be happier. This tiller has seen alot of miles and still performs like a champ. And all for under $2000. It may not be the big, pricey brands but it meets all my needs.
Good Luck,

Subject: [Market-farming] Tillers
Have we discussed tillers much? I was just about to go in debt and buy a
small tractor but the property is less than three acres and I'm wondering if
I can't make do with my brush mower and a really great tiller. I don't need
to sit but I do need power. I have memories of spending days going back and
forth with my small home garden tiller and then icing my back and still not
havinig the job done. I hire a local tractor guy who does the fields pretty
cheap but I want to have the schedule control and also maybe use it as weed
control if possible.
