Steve,
I would be interested in knowing more about "nopales". We have prickly pear growing wild here in SE Wyoming so I am sure I could grow it on purpose.
Thanks,

I'm considering setting aside an acre (or less) to the production of
nopales. I imagine it's pretty easy compared to tomatoes! I am more
interested in the paddles than the prickly pears. Is there a strain that's
better suited to food? I have several big ones but the pads seem huge
compared to the commercial cacti I see coming from Mexico, which are thin
and tender. It's not just an age thing because mine seem thick right out the
gate.

Mine are producing a ton of prickly pears (tunas) this year.

Ideas and sources would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve
