Things we really like about them:

Put them up and you don’t have to revisit them – unlike the weave which we have to revisit several times as the plants grow

Really good for indeterminates which can outgrow the weave

Great air circulation

Easy picking

Don’t have the twine to have to deal with

Things we don’t like:

Blow over if not staked in some fashion and tied together

Expensive (steel keeps going up)

Can poke holes in drip tape

According to extension, can carry disease organisms to following year

Mostly:  Bulky and hard to find a place to store in off-season

We use both methods and each has its own pluses and minuses

Is there an advantage to using cages over using the Florida weave system?
