Yes, I could tell that they're not organic; but there isn't any source that I know of for organically grown strawberry plants. As I can't get them organically grown, (or if I couldn't find these varieties organically grown and as I have good reason to want the particular varieties), I can use conventionally grown plants as long as the first organic crop harvest will be at least a year after planting.
I think the fumigation is common among commercial strawberry plant suppliers.
