- Subject: [Market-farming] heater for small hoop house
- Date: Thu, 6 Oct 2005 10:10:36 -0300
Hi Folks,
We want to keep one of our four hoop houses at 32 degrees F(0 degrees C)
this winter. It is only 12 feet by 30 feet. What kind of heater would you
recommend? Our financial means are limited, so something cheap would be
good. We could use either electrical or propane as a fuel source. We have a
wood stove we could use, but we're unsure how to safely hook it up in a
tunnel. Eliot Coleman mentions using a "salamander-type heater, like the
ones contractors use". Has any of you tried this? What fuels the salamander?
What about emissions?
Thanks for your advice.
