I suppose I had better introduce myself before I begin to feel like a peeping tom, LOL. My name is Stephanie and I own Breezy Ridge Nursery & Crafts.

I have a small operation with a small greenhouse (24' x 24' x 10' H) that my hubby custom built for me. He keeps telling me that this is my deal but he does a lot of the work and I don't know what I would do without his support.

We have a good sized garden area and I am still getting used to Northern growing again as I spent since '85 in FL, until just a couple of years ago.

We have just shy of 1 1/2 acres and we are working on buying some more land behind us.

Currently, I have to sell at Farmer's Markets or online. My neighbor (ugh!) works for the county and she evidently wants to keep any kind of changes from happening. I'll have to go through an expensive rigamarole by adding a retail entrance because our side road isn't good enough for a commercial entrance (their opinion), and I'm just not ready for the headache yet of dealing with VDOT.

I am currently growing bedding plants, foliage plants and some shrubs. I'm hoping to be able to produce enough in the greenhouse and the garden combined to actually make some money. But, I think with the weather we've had this winter it would be nice to just break even.

Last year, I thought that as long as there was still snow the greenhouse wouldn't need shadecloth and everything burnt up in an afternoon! This year, I just recieved my shadecloth and we are putting it up tomorrow.

I reckon I will try some growing tunnels of a different kind. I am putting up some fencing in a hoop to grow vines on (beans, squash, gourds, cukes) and growing lettuces, ect underneath.

I'm in zone 7.

I've been watching the replies on the list for a couple of days and it is really nice to see a great bunch of people really talking about the subject of the list!

Thanks for letting me join!

Steph
