Title: Re: [Market-farming] Old Tires - Are you nuts?

I think it was Paul who wrote:
I would suggest to the detractors of using tires and tire related products such as buckets and tubs to quit driving cars

Huh? Oh come on Paul,  I don't believe, you really believe this is a logical next step to questioning using tires in the garden.

What you are saying is similar to saying 'people who don't like tires thrown away in rivers (or parks or front yards) shouldn't drive cars.'

Tires pose a real disposal problem. A waste management, disposal, durability question.  Whether or not tires should be used in a vegetable field? That's a different question entirely. (and for my money, not even thinking about the toxicity question, the things are too hard to get rid of as it is for me to actually go out of my way and collect them. (and how do you deal with the water/mosquito problem?)

And on another front, you have disillusioned me. After one year spending a month in Egypt I sort of thought it would be a neat idea to get donkeys and a donkey cart for around the farm.  But if I'm going to run the risk of getting killed by the critter. Never mind.
