Each year, my Tater Onions and Garlics all grow out tops 6-8" before
being blasted by cold. Some are mulched, some not.........it has never
affected production. The darlings just come back out in spring ( even
after being blasted again by late frosts) and produce good-sized bulbs.

I Do grow the Multiplying Onions for the family and not for sale, tho
around here people are very familiar with them - they would probably sell
to more people than i imagine. People remember the old ways and
varieties in this area with fondness - same with the old green beanie
types. Good roadways were not put into our remote area until the 1940's
- and the modern world hasn't been here so long that the citizens
remember what sustained the families all those generations.
