Wow! What a wet summer we have had - for the second year in a row. And,
some of our crops have really reflected that cool wet weather with more
fungal (and bacterial) disease than we have ever seen before. So, in our
preparations for next year, we are considering what we can do (organically)
to help those crops (tomatoes and squash, mainly) produce longer.

Serenade has a great webpage, and a significant amount of research devoted
to it. Most of the research seems to conclude that it is not particularly
effective if disease organisms are actually present. What we are looking
for is FARMERS who have used it, and found it effective or not. How
something actually works in a farm situation is often different from a
research situation. So, farmers, anyone using Serenade? How did it work -
good or bad? Did you have any control to be sure the disease organisms were
actually there? It's pretty pricey - but well worth it if it works.

I guess we'll be trying it next year, regardless - but we'd like some
feedback first. The alternative seems to be copper, and that does not
appeal to us if we have another choice. Or, maybe our "normal" drought will
return - helping the disease situation, but bringing its own set of
challenges!
