When I've tried growing melons or cucumbers in Hi-Tunnels I've
had serious problems with powdery mildew. It's only been in Fall plantings and I
suspect Spring plantings, with long daylength, would be a different story. On
the other hand, they've performed beautifully in low tunnels. They love the
extra heat. Ideally, you would have drip irrigation in there too.
