Does anyone in the New Jersey area have a basket weeder for a G tractor they
want to sell? I have a basket weeder for a Cub and an A.Chalmers G that don't
go together real well. (Don't ask how that happened.) I'd sell or trade my
basket weeder too.

Do you stake, trellis or let them sprawl? I've seen recommendations to
do all three.

I don't have it but am also shopping. I have a small old Garden Way cart,
with the front support running across perpendicular to the rows, and will
get one like the large Garden Way that has separate left and right
supports, so that it 1) won't hit my heels, and 2) will better straddle the
rows.

I am in No. Georgia, and these were big sprawling plants. I had good luck
with big bamboo trellis and I did have to tie and guide the plants to grow
over it. I noticed they made a big push in the fall bearing buckets before
the frost.

my perception was that the years I trellised tomatillos also went
with low yield and high insect damage. Maybe those were coincidences
but for the past half a dozen or so years I've let my tomatillo
plants sprawl and each year they seem to be happy campers (as
opposed to obviously depressed trellised tomatillos). But this is in
no way a scientific based experience.

Been having troubles the past few years with worms getting inside the
husks. Gosh, almost 100 percent fruit ruined on plants that look
GREAT! otherwise. Anyone having this problem? Anyone know how to deal
with it? (The worms are so 'out of sight') Thanks -Allan

How about companion planting? Works for me...
Dill, Borage, Marigold, Petunia, Pot Marigold, Opal Basil all work great, my
preference is Opal Basil because it even seems to improve flavors.

I have this cart, I bought it a couple years ago for around $75. First
thing I did was paint it as the chipboard would not last long without it.
The metal is a little flimsy as compared to the more expensive carts, but
it does the job. The door doesn't fit 100%, but again, it works.
I like mine. It's lasting. It works.

About 15 years ago one of our local growers started growing mint. Today they
plant and market 30 acres of mint. The Bacardi company buys their mint to make
Mojito and for a very small donation to the town where the farm is based they
got the town to change its name at least temporary to Mojito NJ. So when you
travel down RT40 to Atlantic city you will pass a sign saying, "Now entering
Mojito"...Bob.
