I don't have a heat mat, but I have two mini-electric
greenhouses* - each is 17" x 11" and I can get eight 6-cell
packs in each one (stacked). If I plant two seeds in each
of the 6-cells in a pack, therefore, I can get a total of 96
seeds germinating at the same time.

These aren't suitable for larger operations than mine unless
you wanted to use them for difficult seeds that require
special coddling, or for cuttings. They keep the
temperature around 70-75 F and hold humidity in too. I've
been very pleased with how fast seeds germinate in the
little greenhouses.

Anyway: I've just started two of the pepper varieties that
I'll be growing this year:

Fat 'n Sassy Hybrid (seeds from Fedco) - planted 3/3 -
germinated today 3/11 - 8 days germination time

New Ace Hybrid (Fedco again) - planted 3/3 - germinated 3/10
- 7 days germination time
