I did it last year. I transplanted them when they were very
small.
I don't think they objected to it: however, I made a
mistake and planted them in straight mushroom compost (too
high a nitrogen content for carrots) and they forked. I
knew better, but forgot.
I don't *think* the forking was caused by the transplanting,
but I can't guarantee it.
