The foldable ROPS is safe. Most on the newer tractors are the foldable  type. They are not safe when folded in the down position. We fold ours when putting it in the shed for it is to tall other wise. TexasBill

I would say if the ROPS is foldable, DON'T DO IT!  This is your life you are risking.  Even if your farm is perfectly flat, there are times in the field where tipping can occur.  The ROPS is there to save your life.  Have you looked at used tractors?  Ours is nearly 30 years old and runs swimmingly--diesel engines are easy to maintain and repair.  And the ROPS is all welded construction, not foldable.  Save money somewhere else.
