I would suggest looking up your nearest ag supply company for peat. (but really, Lucy is, of course, right. Make your own. Down there in greenhouse tomato land I'm sure there are a number of wholesale supply places. I try to buy nothing from Home Despot.

How much are you buying? I just bought 30 bails from our local greenhouse supplier for about $7 a bale. what is a bale, something like 2.5 of those 3 cubic feet bags? I'm sure if I looked I could have got a better deal. There is a woman a couple miles away who makes and sells custom mixes and she buys it by the tractor trailer load. I could have probably got some from her for really cheap.

Another question I have is about getting compost, peat, and other goodies
for the soil in bulk rather than paying $3.89 for 3 cubic feet for compost
at Home Depot. I did a quick web search but didn't come up with anything
useful. I'd want to pick it up myself, so it'd have to be within, say,
100 miles of me for reasonable delivery or pickup. I'm in SE Arizona.
Does anyone know of any sources down here? Or am I doomed to buying this
at Home Depot? Is there a possibility that I can get this stuff at the
wholesale price (which I have no idea what it is)?

Cheers and thanks again,

Matt Cheselka
