Hi,
I'm thinking about growing shallots (organic) this year, and I've never grown them before. Got interested when I saw the price at the natural food store I wholesale to, they were getting like $7 a lb. I would grow them primarily for farmers market and CSA, and wholesale any left overs.
Do you direct seed or transplant?
What varieties?
When to plant, harvest?
Fertility requirements?
What is the demand for shallots among the farmers market customers?
THANKS in advance and Happy New Year to everyone.
Paul
