Ain't a dang thing wrong with eatin' any type of corn! Depression or no!
Some of us are old enough to have been around before the hybrid "super
sweets." Like Alison said, you just have to know when to pick it and be
quick about it.

The native peoples of Ameria grew many kinds of corn for many different
purposes. And they ate some of all of these fresh when it was in the "milk
stage"- tender and sweet.

We don't grow any corn for market (too little profit and takes up too much
space). We do grow some for our own cornmeal and eat some fresh- a summer
treat. We've even eaten some Aztec Purple corn on the cob when it was young
and still white- YUM!

To me, there's no such thing as "field corn." I like to classify it by use-
roasting, cornmeal, pop.... Also I've found no use for hybrid varieties
other than satisfying the sugar cravings of pre-diabetic consumers and to
line the pockets of the agrochemical/seed/commodity/land cartel.
