I oughta ask my Ex about Limerock. His nursery probably grows it.

But, regardless of whether it was properly IDed as a zone 5 plant, there are
many plants that don't do well in various zone 5 planting environments.

I lived in the Buffalo, NY area for 10 years. In spite of what people think
of western NY winters, I never had the plant survival problems I have here
in east central Illinois. Still zone 5. Our winters in Illinois are
absolutely brutal. Trying to overwinter a buddleia is hell. And the
summers are so hot and humid that plants have a much harder time in full sun
plantings.

Summers and winters were actually milder along Lake Erie. All that snowfall
helps and the mild summers helped too.

So, Zone 5 isn't the same from one end of the zone to the other. It's more
than just temperature variations that make a plant more suitable to some
locations than others.
