I do the same thing in marketing my whole grain bread. Working
full-time and baking at night leaves little time to sit to sell. I try
to find where the market is. I take a yoga class because those there
are interested in healthy living. We have a guy who delivers 10 dollar
bags of produce, I bring the bread, another person brings eggs and
everyone is happy. If you live close to cities, herb shops are also
potential markets. You will find if you get one customer within a few
weeks you will have several. Hope this will work for many of you.

I have made a good business with firewood. I live about an hour and a
half
outside of Buffalo NY and I work in Buffalo. I cut up hardwood tops
after
loggers are done for next to nothing. I advertise in Buffalo. So I
take in
a face cord of firewood in with me on my way to work. It doubles the
price
from 35 to 70. It doesn't even add that much more to my gas mileage. I
am
thinking of expanding this technique to other areas like eggs,
mushrooms,
produce, etc. I like the direct marketing, but don't have the time to
sit
around in a farmer's market.

Figure out a way to get to the market you want to grow for, or grow for
the
market you're in. Whether or not you make a living depends on market
demand
for your product.

For those of you who "can't give it away", rethink your business
strategy!
