#9 wire is farmer talk for a hardened 9 gauge wire used for fencing to
tighten
up brace posts. You can buy dead soft and hard wire. Ask at any farm store or
fencing supply place. It is difficult to work with for fencing because it is
hard to bend, but that also means that it won't collapse as easy for your
application.
