Hi Dave,
Do the blossoms that are dropping off have narrow stems?? If so, it's most
likely due to those flowers being the male blossoms which don't form fruit.
The female blossoms, with a small bulge nearest the stem, will be along
shortly, and you'll have fruit on the vines. The male blossoms drop off
just as you describe.
If you can pick the blossoms before they fall off, they sell great for fried
squash blossoms. The stamen in the middle will get slimy if the blossoms
are too long off the plant, so you will want to remove those. Price them
high, as it only takes a few ounces to make up a big batch.
