I have one of those Gardener's Supply gooseneck hoes I bought many years ago,
and i use it all the time. However, I'm 6' tall, and had to replace its
handle
with a longer one, 62" I think. I don't recall whether it came with PAINT on
the blade. Many hardware store hoes do, and you have to scrub the paint off
to
make them work right. It PAYS, believe me, to keep your hoes bare steel,
totally clean of dirt and rust, and very sharp. I keep a 5 gal bucket of
sand
soaked with old motor oil, and plunge all my digging handtools in up to the
shank before hanging them up.

As Grandpa Wright used to say, "Boys, farming's hard enough without having to
use a dull hoe!"
