Dear Listserv members,

Please forward this message to your colleagues in the agribusiness industry
who you believe might be interested!

Citizens Network for Foreign Affairs (CNFA), a non-profit organization in
Washington, DC that promotes economic and agricultural development in
developing and transitional countries, is currently looking for agribusiness
specialists who are interested in donating their time and expertise to
provide technical assistance to smallholder farmers and entrepreneurs in
Southern Africa.

The CNFA Agribusiness Volunteer Program sends American volunteers on
three-week overseas volunteer assignments to provide technical assistance to
smallholder farmers and entrepreneurs to empower them to help themselves.
CNFA covers all the assignment related expenses including airfare, lodging,
meals, and transportation and provides a translator. CNFA also makes all the
logistical arrangements for the assignment and fully briefs the volunteer
about the assignment, host and country prior to departure. CNFA volunteers
generally come from universities, extension agencies, cooperatives, farmer
associations, credit unions, private businesses and farms and government
agencies.

The Agribusiness Volunteer Program is funded by the United States Agency for
International Development (USAID). The goal of the program is to increase
incomes and food security.

In Southern Africa, CNFA sends volunteers to South Africa, Mozambique,
Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Participation in this program is limited to U.S.
citizens.

A list of the currently available marketing related assignments is below. We
recruit volunteers on a on going basis for agricultural volunteer assignments
that include Farm Business Management, Business Planning, Strategic Planning,
Financial Management, Honey Processing Management, Fruit and Vegetable
Marketing, Cooperative Development and business management training for small
scale agricultural input retailers.

For additional information about our program and to apply please send your

Best regards,
Eleanor
