Wow - Your sons are June bearers?  Don't they complain about being kept in a cool dark place?:^)

We have kept ours for a few days until planting - the fridge would be better if it is longer than that.  Yes, damp - but not too.

In fact, the first few years when we planted hundreds, we planted them when it was cold and pretty gloomy outside!  Now I wait to plant until it is warmer.  But I think we were worried about the amount of time they were lying around back then.  Too many boxes for the fridge.

Hi Marie...don't have a cave handy..:-) but a dark cool place could be found. They are my sons...and I believe they are June bearers. He got them from Miller Nurseries in N.Y. state.  Franklin

I think the best thing is to put them in a refrigerator.  If you don’t have cooler space, put in a cool basement or cave.  Should be instructions included with them.  What kind did you get and where did you get them?

Hi all...recieved several hundred strawberry plants in the mail today....they seem to be in good shape. Can't plant until Saturday or maybe Sunday...whats the best way to handle them until then?  Franklin
